Brief History of CENTURY 21 Benjamin Realty
Since the period of the 1880’s, there has been
a presence of the ancestors of Harris Benjamin who is the founder of
CENTURY 21 Benjamin Realty……Harris’s Great uncle Abner Franklin was
a Timber Scaler during the period of the heavy timbering of the area
in and around the Rose City area in the 1870’s and 1880’s.
Harris was born in a small frame house on his
Grandfather Ivan Nye’s farm 2 miles North of Rose City in November
of 1931, the son of Franklin and Genevieve Benjamin.
Following schooling
and a four year term in the Military during the Korean War, Harris
and his family returned to
Rose
City
where Harris worked for his Father in what was then the “Benjamin
Millworks” company which manufactured cabin logs, built cabinets,
furniture, windows and doors. This subsequently became known
as “Benjamin Mill and Lumber Company” and operated a lumber
processing mill and later a Lumber yard and Hardware operations
which Harris then acquired from his Father Frank, and during the
tenure of which Harris obtained a license to list and sell Real
Estate.
Harris obtained a Broker license in 1978 and
in 1979 obtained the Franchise from the CENTURY 21
System and named the company CENTURY 21 Benjamin Realty.
Son Rick, Son Mark,
and Daughter Brenda all became licensed in the early 1980’s and are
the principal management people in the two office operation (Rose
City
and St. Helen).
CENTURY 21 Benjamin
Realty has been serving
Rose
City
and the surrounding area for many years, with the next generation of
